Matthew and Me unveil ‘Silver’ the stunning opener to their forthcoming Startpoint EP, out November 18th on Beatnik Creative.
“Silver, is perhaps their strongest release to date; managing to come across as both emotionally fragile yet somehow reassuringly confident” Crack in the Road
“ easily the most confident, accomplished project from the pairing yet” Clash
“a coming-of-age that feels both powerful and important from the very first listen.”Gold Flake Paint
“Their music is expansive and epic, considered and dynamic which grows with wonderful organicity as it progresses.” The 405
“I really like the new direction they are going in. Particularly when they play live, it really comes together and sounds fantastic”. John Kennedy, Radio X
The band is focussed around lead vocalist/songwriter Matthew Board and drummer Lucy Fawcett, who by living and writing in the expansive landscape of South Devon, exist so far from the mainstream that their unique style has grown autonomously. The whole EP’s soundscape is at least partially inspired by the rugged and beautiful Devonshire landscapes and coastline around Start Point.
In support of the EP’s release Matthew and Me will be playing a short tour in the autumn taking in their home town of Totnes, Brighton, Bristol and London.
